Welcome to our brick & mortar studio! We are so brick & mortar, we even have bricks on the inside of the studio in our century old building.
Hours: Open studio hours are Wednesday - Friday 11am - 6pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm and Closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Monday, Tuesday and evenings are available by appointment for groups of 5 or more, call Rebekah at (417) 693-4991 to schedule. We may stay open late on certain Saturdays, call ahead to schedule your date night.
Most of the time studio hours will be available for open studio work and free basic glass cutting workshops. The exception will be if a formal workshop or class overlaps studio hours, then the studio will only be available to pick up previously finished products.
What You Can Do: Basically, Creative Escape Glass LLC is a fused glass open studio where you can learn how to make your own fused glass pieces! Open studio time will allow you to create according to your schedule, once you learn the basics. No experience is necessary.
Each week we have a specific theme or project style during the week and a Saturday Project which is normally a great beginner piece to help with inspiration. Check out our Studio Calendar to see upcoming projects.
Open Studio means that we are in "classes on demand" mode and you can choose your project size and style to fit your taste and your budget. Just walk in, pick your project and we will teach you basic glass cutting and help guide you through your project. All levels or fusers are welcome during open studio time. No experience is necessary.
Popular projects start around $12 and go up from there based on materials used. Average project costs are $34.
There will also be formal classes where you can learn new techniques or make specific pieces. Our wide variety of classes include some classes appropriate for most ages. Date Night, Girls Night Out and Just the Guys events will allow for more flexibility in creating but add an additional element of fun. Private parties can also be arranged for groups of 6-12. For more info on classes go to our Classes page.
Shopping: Unique glass art pieces are also handcrafted in the studio by our CEG Artisans and are available for purchase. Our artisans love custom projects, so if you want something that you don't see, just ask us. Most of our pieces are functional art that can be displayed but are intended to be used and enjoyed. All pieces are handcrafted in the US, even the raw art glass is made in Portland, Oregon.
Examples of items you can buy or make are glass plates, bowls, wall crosses, pendants, vases, wind chimes, wall art, seamless decorative window panes and many more custom fused glass items.
Loyalty Rewards: GANSA, our Frequent Fusers Club, tracks all dollars spent and the number of pieces made with rewards earned along the way. For more info go to our GANSA Club page.
